About the session
TRE stands for Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises.
It is an empowering tension & stress reduction technique. Once you understand and master the key principles - you can use it anywhere any time for the rest of your life.
TRE involves a shift in understanding that involuntary shakes and tremors are NOT a stress or trauma symptom. The shaking is rather a recovery reflex that all mammals including us humans were born with. This reflex is there to naturally restore our body and mind to a calm, relaxed and balanced state. How come we don't use it then? Through culture, conditioning and upbringing we somehow lost the connection with our body.
Dr David Berceli put together 7 easy exercises that help us to connect with our body and re-activate the natural and innate mechanism of vibrating/shaking we were born with.
In a TRE session, I will guide you through these exercises. They will mildly fatigue and slightly stretch certain muscle groups in the legs and pelvis which ultimately result in your own body vibrating at its own pace. Most exercises are done in standing, then you can lie on the yoga mat for the shaking and integration period. If you have limitations, we can adapt the exercises.
I can help with one-on-one sessions either at my clinic in Newmarket or over Zoom. Group sessions are also available.
